“Can Openers”

After the Banigoth offensive to wipe out pockets of rebellion on Planet Banimon a while back, only a few rebels survived. Those who did were not the ideological militias from the West Bank, but rather the gangs of smugglers and adventurers from the Frozen North. Having survived for months in the harshest of conditions, these hardened warriors welcomed the arrival of the Returned Revolutionary Army, not because of any ideological affiliation, but because war meant they could sell their services to the highest bidder. They were proven right in the bitter fighting that ensued, and in a conflict dominated by tank battles, they had found a niche for themselves.

It was a dangerous one. Armed only with a turbo chainsaw and a gun, they threw themselves recklessly at the speeding, firing tanks. Nicknamed “Can Openers”, theirs was the simplest of tactics: drill a hole in the tank armour and shoot up the crew before they or the supporting troops pick you off. It was a low percentage play, but their savagery managed to scare tank crews on both sides and “Can Openers” quickly became prized mercenaries, in large part because their life expectancy meant many of them would probably never live long enough to collect.
